TLC - Product - Lipo-Dox

Doxorubicin encapsulated liposome. The product was successfully launched in Taiwan and approved by the Department of Health (DOH) for AIDS-Kaposi sarcoma, breast cancer and ovarian cancer in 2001. It was licensed to TTY Biopharm for manufacture and sales. Sales amount in 2009 has reached NT$227M.

Indications

Rules for national health insurance reimbursement:
1. As monotherapy for patients with metastatic breast
    cancer, where there is an increased cardiac risk
2. Treatment of metastasis carcinoma of the ovary in
    patients with disease that is recurrent to both 1st-line
    platinum- & paclitaxel-based chemotherapy regimens
3. Treatment of AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma in patients
    with low CD4 (< 200 CD4 lymphocytes/mm3) & diseases
    in mucosa, skin & internal organs
